• League play begins middle of January, 2017 and continues through middle of March. Schedules will not be finalized until sometime around first of year. It takes considerable time and effort to get this organized. Please be patient
• This league is offered for kids in 3rd through 6th grades
• Cobra fees are $20 per family + $15 per kid for basketball fee + jersey purchase (possibly). You only pay the family membership once per year. We offer raffle tickets as a way for you to recover the $15 (sport) fee. You keep the money from sale of raffle tickets and turn in the tickets. Basketball also has a fee for special reversible jerseys. The fee is $15 per jersey (our cost is $20). We regret that we have to increase jersey cost this year. We have not had an increase since the league began though our cost has continued to increase. These are very good quality reversible jerseys. If you have a jersey from last year and it still fits, you will not need to purchase another jersey
o Example: A family with two kids participating would pay the family registration of $20 plus $30 for basketball fee + $30 for the jerseys (if needed). That is a total of $80
o Note that the family registration is only once per year and it starts at beginning of summer. If your child participated in most recent baseball or softball or volleyball sessions, or have also signed up for wrestling this year, you would have already paid this fee. In the preceding example, if the family registration had already been paid AND the kids had shirts from last year, you would only owe for the basketball fee ($30)
• Fees will be due at time of registration. We will provide a PayPal option on the website to pay these fees
• This is a recreational league with the emphasis on kids learning and improving in the game of basketball.
• Kids will be organized by school and grade level. Depending on number of kids, it is possible some schools will be combined. It is typical that grade levels (3rd and 4th, 5th and 6th) are combined. Boys and girls teams will be run separately
• Exact dates and times are not known yet. These details have yet to be worked out. Last year, league games were typically Saturday afternoons. It is not known yet what day games will be played. Saturdays are most likely though Sundays are a possibility
• We have not organized coaches yet. This takes time to finalize. Some coaches and teams may get organized before others. The coaches will be the point of contact with players
• Teams will also practice in the evenings Mondays or Tuesdays at Woodrow Wilson. Details of this are not known yet and will take more time to finalize. It is also possible that additional practice time may be found by the coaches at other schools on other days besides Monday and Tuesday
• We have almost always been successful in seeing that kids signed up will play. However, it always depends on having enough coaches for the teams. In the unlikely event there are not enough coaches for teams and we cannot successfully place your child on a team, money paid will be refunded. We need coaches. If you’d like to coach, please see following page
